JHI 2020 – Selection Policy
Junior Selection Policy – Ward Junior Home International 2020
Selection for the England team for the Ward Junior Home International to be held in South East, England on 10th and 11th October 2020 will be based on results in the following races
British Long Distance Champs | 21st March 2020 |
JK Day 2 | 11th April 2020 |
JK Day 3 | 12th April 2020 |
British Middle Distance Champs | 9th May 2020 |
Northern Championships | 10th May 2020 |
The team is made up of 4 juniors from each of the following age classes; M&W 14, M&W 16, M&W 18.
M/W18’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W18E courses, where provided, at selection races.
On day 2 of the JK all classes will run a middle distance race and on Day 3 a long distance race.
M/W16’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W16A courses at the selection races and M/W14’s seeking selection would be expected to run M/W14A courses at the selection races.
The Selectors expect that any athlete wishing to represent England will successfully complete at least three of the above races.
In the event that a race, or races, are cancelled, or a course is voided the selectors will still consider competitors without the requisite number of results provided that they had entered the cancelled race(s) and that the total of achieved results plus entries for cancelled races meets or exceeds the required number of races.
Illness or Injury;
All cases of illness or injury which may affect an athlete’s ability to compete fully or at all in one of the above selection races should be notified in writing to the Selectors prior to the running of that race, clearly explaining why.
